The photos below were taken by one of the support team during the recent Rescue Diver course. The course was undertaken at Coniston Water in the lake district just south of Bailiffs wood. The course was spread over the Easter weekend and proved to be a very enjoyable and worthwhile time for all involved. As well as the excellent team work involved during the course itself the group also proved their courage (aka stupidity) by camping out on some of the coldest nights of the year. Just to put the camping in the context of the weekend; the weather turned from hail to snow to rain to sunshine and at night the winds were so strong that the flexible tents were laying flat across the people sleeping in the inner tents. That combined with temperatures as low as minus 4 celcius really proved the insulating properties of under suits. Team work really came to the fore when pushing the transit van off the sodden ground after it had been beached earlier in the day. |
